Two regenerative medicine enthusiast co-launch the next-generation regenerative procedure – helping patients avoid orthopaedic surgery

in Uncategorized 3 min read

The patients can now avail of a revolutionary stem cell procedure to treat their orthopaedic condition used to delay or avoid the orthopaedic surgery all together.

This autologous regenerative procedure can help with numerous orthopaedic conditions such as: sports injuries, torn ligaments, painful joints, injured spine, tendons, fractured bones / bone edema, etc.

How did these innovative procedures come to the Artro clinic?

It’s all thanks to the determination of the two medical doctors – an orthopaedic traumatologist Nerijus Linkus and an orthopaedic and spine surgeon Rolandas Janušas who have united their forces to practice regenerative medicine at Artroklinika in Kaunas Lithuania.

Dr Rolandas Janušas started working in Germany working with Biomet, RegenLab, Adistem (focusing on regenerative qualities of blood) and Adilyfe and later in 2016 went on to become the first Regenexx doctor (focusing on bone marrow and blood stem cell regenerative qualities) in Europe in 2017, opening Oreme clinic in Belgium. After temporarily putting the in person procedures on pause during the restrictions imposed by the COVID19 pandemic, the doctor has moved to Switzerland and worked at Sonnenberg Biomedical clinic – where he researched reasons that hinder the human body’s natural ability to heal itself and holistic medicine.

Dr Nerijus Linkus started his medical career in 1998, and by 2003 he had refined his focus to minimally invasive orthopaedic surgeries, becoming one of the top specialists in reconstructive joint procedures. Recognizing the growth of regenerative medicine, he has spent the last 10 years focusing on regenerative treatments. He went on to open Artroklinika in 2019 in Kaunas, Lithuania, the home city of basketball, with the idea to provide a 360° orthopaedic medical care for the patients.

In 2023, both medical doctors connected and decided to launch a holistic stem cell medical practice to treat orthopaedic injuries with regenerative procedures.

The most reassuring factor for the patients is that both doctors are medical doctors trained in traditional orthopaedic medicine, experts in their field- who understand the importance of delaying the surgery if and when at all possible. The patients can rest assured to be received professionally and receive unbiased advice on their orthopaedic medical conditions!

Holistic in nature…

These orthopaedic procedures are holistic in nature – they require a thorough analysis of your lifestyle, medical history & medical condition, preparation, treatment and recovery.

The most important emphasis is to help patients kick their health into its natural ability to heal. As a result the traditional highly invasive orthopaedic surgeries- requiring several months of recovery- can be delayed or even avoided altogether!

How does this orthopaedic regenerative treatment work?

After the initial consultation(s) and preparation the patient arrives at the clinic in Kaunas. The procedures require either a platelet rich plasma treatment or a stem cell procedure combined with platelet rich plasma- depending on your orthopaedic medical condition and doctors’ recommendation.

The medical staff receive the patient on the date to harvest the bone marrow stem cells and/or draw blood. The medical samples harvested are then processed in the medical laboratory on the clinic’s premises. The stem cells are duly counted and prepared to be injected. The patient is asked to return to the procedure ward. The doctor performs an ultrasound and Xray guided Stem Cell / Platelet Rich Plasma injection to the treated orthopaedic area. The patient is then released out of the clinic on the very same day.

What’s unique about this?

The doctors are focused to support the patient’s holistic treatment.

The Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) procedures are up to 14 times higher in platelet concentration – ensuring the patients better results than the PRP received in other clinics.

Stem cells – unlike other regenerative procedures available in the market- are autologous bone marrow procedures. The stem cells are harvested from the patient, processed in the laboratory and reinjected into the patient on the same day.
